Fall is knocking on the door, it’s officially week 1 for College Football (harps playing, angels singing, and we all say HALLELUJAH),  and we got some rain in the forecast last night, which typically makes interesting times at the Main Thang. With a cold developing in my chest and the shorties still adjusting to school (ie: acting like a bunch of Dothraki blood riders on a weeklong bender),  I was actually happy to be forced out of the fartsack to lead today. Otherwise, I never would have made it out.

Some good natured smack talk on tha Twittah even brought out the likes of Zoila and Satisfry to fill out a full complement of 15 on Light Thursday. Here’s what we did:

Warmup

Voice starts cracking already (see: aforementioned chest cold development), so lets get moving before the Danny Bonaduce jokes start flying.

Thang

Mosey on up to the Stairway to Heaven.

7’s: Merkins and Bigboys

Merks at the bottom, up the steps and bigboys at the top. Mind the homeless guy having a lie-in at the top.

Plank up till everybody’s done

7’s: Derkins and Dips

Zoila was too busy talking to hear the instructions and had to be reminded what was going on.

At which point Zoila starts an uninterrupted streak of random college football ideas, quotes, memes, etc, providing the soundtrack to the rest of the workout.

Level 1: Merkins x 10 and run up to the next level

Level 2: Merkins x 10 / Jump squats x 20 and on up

Level 3: Merkins x 10 / Jumpsquats x 20 / Flutters x 30 (double count) and on up

Level 4: Merkins x 10 / Jumpsquats x 20 / Flutters x 30 (double count) / Air presses x 40 and on up

Level 5: Merkins x 10 / Jumpsquats x 20 / Flutters x 30 (double count) / Air presses x 40 / LBCs x 50

Plank/ people’s chair for the 6.

What goes up must come down, so repeat the escalator at each level starting at level 5 and on down, removing exercises in reverse order.

Zoila is still talking, so we had to explain it again a couple times over.
