  • AO -

10 PAX joined YHC on his VQ as we put in some hill work both on and off campus.  The hills did not seem to care that it was the first time, and they definitely left YHC walking funny afterwards.

Warm Up:

SSH x 25

Mountain Climbers x 25

Elbow Plank Dips x 25

Main Thang:

The PAX got lined up in an orderly fashion for an extra long Indian run down Trade Street to a surprise destination.  There was some #mumblechatter about the nice downhill route.  Of course, what goes down must eventually come back up.  We emerged at the choppa in Veteran’s Park and moseyed over to Tank Street for a triple nickel merkinfest.  5 trips up the hill to the first intersection (between 15% and 20% grade) with 5 reps at the top and then back down for another 5 reps.  YHC switched up the merkins for each round, and the PAX powered through them in the following order: (1) merkins, (2) diamonds, (3) wide merkins, (4) Peter Parker merkins, and (5) dry docks.   A sixth round of dry docks was added because we were having so much fun running up the hill.

Now that we were properly warmed up, we repeated the Indian run back to #TheStation.  The formation was not as crisp heading back, and there was plenty of planking and People’s Chair as we regrouped along the route.

Now it was time to mosey to the hill next to the island to start, in the immortal words of Huey Lewis, “Climbing Jacob’s ladder, [because] all I want from tomorrow is to get it better than today.” We started with  burpees at the top and bottom of the hill (starting at 1 and increasing to 7), but YHC had to audible to just the top for the last round to save some time (and strength) for 3 MOM.

Mary:

Flutter x 15

Erector x 15

Rosalita x 15

COT:

Prayers for my 4 year old, as he was diagnosed with pneumonia yesterday afternoon.  It is in the early stages, so hopefully the antibiotics will take care of the infection before it gets any worse.

Prayers for the family of the colleague of Lizard Lick who passed away, and prayers for all of us to be aware of the needs of those around us so we can reach out before it is too late.

Praise for Footloose, whose accountability cards are paying dividends with the PAX.

It was a pleasure gentlemen.
