I had a loose plan for today and hyped the distance and difficulty of today’s crucible to the best of my ability on the twitter. I hope it lived up to expectations. There was no river, so 00 was happy and no Joe Hendrix, so Houdini was happy. There were ample hills and plenty of running, and I must apologize for making Earth hit Thunderbird Hill two days in a row. Here’s what went down:
Launch from S. Main Starbucks at 5:17 (Amoeba had to run a quick two minute duece drill) and head down Main to Broad. Right on Broad to the bottom of Thunderbird Hill (David Francis Ave or something like that). This point marks the start of “the loop” and concludes the warm up. 10 burpees at the base of the hill and then run up to McBee (no “a”) and hand a left. Stop at the base of Mordecai for 20 squats. Run up Mordecai and across Washington to the Christ Church parking lot. Pause for 20 jump lunges and then proceed up the hill to exit Christ Church onto Broadus. Stop and give me 25 LBCs. Take Broadus to Washington and head left. Hang a right back onto McBee and left on McDaniel (with “a”), pausing for 20 PST. Take McDaniel to Broad. Right on Broad back to the starting point at the base of Thunderbird Hill.
Pax completed 3-4 loops before heading back to SBUX as a group. Total milage was in the 4.8-6ish range. Amazing effort from all involved. The jump lunges at the top were brutal. My favorite part was when it was over. Amoeba and Gristle destroyed the course and claimed the #VT. Apparently they are paired with Sponge Bob for the MudRun. They haven’t met him and were asking some questions. I’m considering driving down just to watch him try to keep up with these speed demons. Good luck Spongy!
00 has the Q for crucible next week. It was joked that GCOD wouldn’t be there because he only shows when he Qs! That trend is changing. I’m in. Additionally, YHC was called out by both Sponge Bob and Iceman Wednesday night on Twitter for a lack of consistent appearences as of late. Much appreciated boys. I would not have gotten out of bed Thursday morning if it weren’t for fear of not living up to my “100% HC”. I needed to be called out. Had I been inconsistent the last couple months/a lazy sack of crap in the mornings? Absolutely. Was I aware of that? Absolutely. It’s very easy to lie to ourselves and make excuses. At the point of seeing significant results, I was holding back and slipping. I watched this happen and made excuses for myself. I’m too busy, too tired, too stressed, etc. As it turns out, I was too full of shit. I appreciate that you guys held me accountable and having the courage to be truth sayers. It was exactly the jolt I needed to get fired up and recommitted to getting better each day. As my friend Mr. Kardashian says “We at war. We at war against terrorism, racism, but most of all, we at war with ourselves.” Everyone our there today won a battle in the war with themself to get better today.

Glad to hear my smacktalk helped. It was great to have you back. Maybe your smacktalk will finally get me out to Crucible on a regular basis.
As far as Amoeba and Gristle are concerned…what I lack in speed, I make up for in boyish good looks and a 1 in 100 chance that ill tell a funny joke. Im trying to get my running miles up to do them proud.
They’ve got ya beat on boyish looks as well. I asked Amoeba if he was able to drive himself to the workout. I felt old.
