47 posted at #Legacy (28 FNG’s) to see what this #F3Dads thing was all about. The weather cooperated, even though the previous days storms had left the field soggy (which made footing dicey for a couple of the events).

With the later start (0815), Legacy Park was busy. Luckily we didn’t need a ton of room so found a spot for us to operate.
Once everyone was together I explained the rules for the #GolfBallRelay. Each person take a spoon and golf ball, line up single file, then walk out to the cone and back. It was Dads vs kids and the Dads had to walk backwards. A dropped golf ball was a 5 merkin penalty. The losing group had to do 10 burpees. In a huge upset, the Dads lost so we paid the penalty.
Next was the main event – Tug O War
We split the kids up randomly and let them go at it, twice. The second effort may have been the longest TOW I’ve seen. Great effort by the kiddos. As I was about to explain the next event, @SanDiago said “you know the Dads gotta have a turn at TOW”. So the Dads had a go and each team won once so we called it a draw.
We finished the workout with #SouthCackalacky RR. The kids seemed to really enjoy this (probably second favorite, behind TOW).
Mosey back to the flag for what would be a very looooooong COT (NameOrama).
Naked Moleskin
Always great to see Dads interacting with their kids. And it’s great to share F3 with them. My youngest (7), said he would have rather had “less field day” and more exercises. I’ll admit the golf ball race was a dud but you never know until you try.
