Date:  5/14
Where:  REI Parking lot on Woodruff Rd
Time:  2 wave launch (1 at 7AM, 1 at 7:20 – competitive)

Let’s cut the crap and keep things from getting watered down.  This event is not going to be sexy, fun, or enjoyable.  But it’s going to test you mentally, physically, and digestivally.  So put on your fancy shoes and socks.  It’s time to work.

Course:  7.5 mile loop around ICAR with 1000 reps of exercise built into it.  Here’s the skinny:

2 Waves will go off and could result in being left behind:
7 AM = 11+ minute miles/6 – 8 miles is your max distance/group that stays together
7:20 = Balls to the wall competition group 

Looking at Map in post:
Start at REI parking Lot
– Left onto Carolina Point Parkway.  Run down to TD Bank building parking lot and run to the front of center circular building (Marked as 1 on map).
– At stop 1, perform 50 Merkins, 50 Lunges, 50 Big Boy Situps
– Run length of the buildings to get back to the Carolina Point Parkway towards Sulphur Springs Rd.
– Cross Sulphur Springs Rd. and take all the way down to the entrance of ICAR (Marked 2 on the map)
– Run into ICAR campus, and run all the way up the stairs of the Parking Garage
– At the top of the parking garage (Spot 2), perform 50 Merkins, 50 Lunges, 50 Big Boy Situps)
– Back down Stairs, out ICAR campus, right onto main rd. towards Laurens Rd.
– Right before you get to Laurens Rd. take right onto unnamed rd. that takes you back to Red Roof Inn (Spot 3 on Map)
– At Red Roof Inn, Stop 3, perform 50 Merkins, 50 Lunges, 50 Big boy Situps
– Run back to Main Rd. the way you came in, turn right, run to Laurens Rd. and U-turn at Laurens Rd. to loop back
– Run past ICAR, up to the roundabout (marked 4 on map)
– At stop 4, perform 50 Merkins, 50 Lunges, 50 Big Boy Situps
– Take a right at the Roundabout onto Innovation Drive.
– Take Innovation Drive all the way to Laurens Rd., U-Turn, and take a right into Parking lot for St. Francis (Marked 5 on Map)
– At stop 5, perform 50 Merkins, 50 Lunges, 50 Big Boy Situps
– Run back to Roundabout at Main rd., take a right
– Run up the hill and stop at Dr. Phinnize Fisher Middle School (Marked 6 on the map…but don’t have to leave the main rd) and perform 50 Merkins, 50 Lunges, 50 Big Boy Situps
– Take the main road all the way back up to REI Parking Lot
– At REI Parking lot, perform 100 Air Humpers to finish.

Finish this and you get to have a beer (DISCLAIMER:  Beer not provided, but welcomed).

  1. No patch/no shirt. This will end up being a quarterly PT test for those who survive and are dumb enough to think they want to do it again.

    However, you will get a handshake/fist bump from Spongebob
