YHC will be the first to tell you that YHC will never be the leader of the pack when it comes to a running workout. So this should serve as inspiration to all you “middle/end of the pack” runners like myself that you don’t need to be the fastest out there to Q a workout.
Conditions: perfect for July. Slightly muggy w/ a breeze.
The route was sprinkled with pain stations including a variety of exercises – merkins, merkin jacks, parker peter, flutters, LBCs, Freddie mercs, air chair, planking, etc.
Start out at ACES, head down Waccamaw, right on Westminster, left on W Augusta Place, left on Augusta St, cross over Faris, cross over McDaniel.
Right on Jones Ave (Seal comes out of nowhere, somehow tracking us down after parking at Jimmy John’s on Augusta. #Impressive), pass Sirrine Stadium, left on Univ Ridge, left on Church St. #Biscuithead coming soon.
Left on Pearl, right into construction zone, right on Tindal, left on Capers. #Hillwork
Right on Augusta and quick left on Aberdeen. Stay on Aberdeen until it dead ends into Faris. Cross Faris onto WORMY. From here, all you got/jailbreak to COT.
Total mileage was 4.1 miles per Map My Run.
COT/Announcements
Great to see Screech and Seal out at ACES this morning.
Prayers for Lotion’s family who just recently had a baby
Prayers for Satisfry and his family as they are expecting a baby (Small Fry) in about a month.
YHC told a story about a homeless man that approached me asking for money as I was exiting Moes last night. He had a 3 mile walk ahead of him and he had not eaten any dinner. I will admit this – I have never been too keen on giving cash to homeless folks because I have no idea what they will actually do with that cash. A few months ago, a friend (Grim Reaper) suggested that instead of giving a homeless person cash, you could offer to buy them food instead. That came to YHC’s mind last night and I offered to buy the man some dinner at Moes. He was very appreciative and thanked me multiple times. One of the workers at Moes realized what was going on, and said “thank you for what you’re doing.” My friend ordered some beef nachos, add bacon and got an orange soda and a couple of brownies, and let me tell you, that was the best $12 I’ve spent in a long time.
A couple of conversations followed about how to live your life and what your goals are in life. Latka & Grim dropped some knowledge about “what do you want in life?” Are you spending all your life working and saving towards retirement? Then what? Are you trying to get to the top as fast as possible by working all the time and spending too little time with your family? What happens when you do get to the top? Money can’t buy time, especially time spent with loved ones. Why do you do the things you do in life? What’s their purpose? What’s your purpose? #WhatsYourWhy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VH99TQmDG4U
Great workout and even better COT. Thankful for F3 and the opportunity to share in fitness, fellowship, and faith with you guys.
