Men at First and Third

  • Workout Date - 03/25/2016
  • Q In Charge - ATM, Affordable Care Act
  • The PAX - All AOs and all PAX are Welcome (like always)!
  • AO -

Some of you know my love for a good themed Q… some of you wish you didn’t.  Well this one is different, I promise.  I’ve actually had this one circled for months now.  In fact, I’m pretty sure I texted @ATM about this while the Gamecocks still had a shot at the BCS.  This Friday, @ATM and I will ATTEMPT to honor the greatest #downpainment this world will ever know.  The same disclaimer goes out to our #3rdF activities as our #1stF activities.  We are not fitness professionals nor are we faith professionals, but we intend on bringing God to the gloom in a big way Friday morning at the #Pitchfork.

For most of my life, Good Friday went on without much fanfare other than it was printed on my business calendar.  In fact, I’ll admit I didn’t really know what it meant until my late 20s… didn’t even Google it.  I was baptized in my 30th year on this big round ball and ever since then, this day has meant more to me than any other Christian holiday (sorry, Santa).  It is the epicenter of the Good News, the ultimate price paid for all of our sins.  His life on earth was perfect and His story made perfect through His death.

So let’s get together and experience the gloomiest of glooms.  Let’s remember what Jesus sacrificed for His church as we remember what we should sacrifice for our M’s.  Let’s be in the moment when the skies went black so we can come closer to grasping the elation on Sunday morning when we celebrate His victory over death in our bow ties and seersucker pants.

No costumes this time.  Just reverence for the Lord and what He’s done in our lives.

    1. Affordable Care Act

IG, great question as always. I would say anywhere between 15 and 20 lbs is the middle ground. No judgement whatsoever for pink single digit lb weights (fingers crossed).
