We’re coming up on my 1 year F3 anniversary. Prior to posting, I had never run a race. Ever. When I decided to add running to my bootcamp fix, I began to hear things about threshold and interval pace, lactate thresholds, active recovery, etc. My words to Longbottom were something to the effect of, “I don’t understand any of this. Just tell me what to do.” Jack Daniels had nothing to do with running.

Today we ran 10 minute Threshold runs, with a one minute active recovery in between. Prior to posting I demanded that the PAX consult the Jack Daniels calculator. 8 souls ran 3-10 minute tempo runs sandwiched in between two moseys. The purpose was to improve your lactate threshold. In response to a question from the PAX, this has nothing to do with mammary glands. Everything to do with improving how quickly your body clears lactate from the blood. I explained that this had everything to do with running the right pace, and we would be at different paces throughout, unable to engage in conversation. There’s no second F here. Save that for Sunday. Only hard work and clean running. How things have changed.

COT: Has anyone heard of the Drifter? Or perhaps an upcoming Mud Run.

You are all jealous of my running tights.

PS: Hey Snowden, this is my second Q of the week, and my second backblast.
