9 men resisted the wet conditions and opted out of the convergence downtown to post at the toughest AO this side of the Saluda river (which should be in full flood stage right now). Here is what transpired.
Gloom observations:
I really thought no one would show. Figured everyone was going to the convergence. Glad I elected to stay behind and welcome our FNG instead. Forgot my SF. No matter, it was raining some after all. Brought a replacement block for the one I destroyed. Enjoy 🙂 Boomhauer EH’d his buddy and almost didn’t show for his first post. Awkward. It has to be the warmest November morning on record. Swift gets me as workout partner. Lucky him. I sandbagged Dora so he’d have to pull my weight. Love ya brother!
The warm-up:
We had an FNG show up. So first is the standard disclaimer. Then some windmills x20 IC, I think. Next, we want our new friend to see our best side. So Monkey humpers it is x10 IC. Then some good ole SSH x 20 IC. Let’s mosey.
The Main thang:
A light Indian run around the back of the church and down to the lower parking level. Now introduce our old friend, Dora.
Dora 1, 2, 3
Partner up. Cumulative of 100 Mericans, 200 LBCs, and 300 squats per team. Partner A runs uphill to visitors sign while partner B does the numbers.
Now here is Joe.
Joe Hendrix. Backwards crawl up each set of stairs towards church. Bear crawl between sets of stairs. Reverse LBCs while we wait for the 6.
And finally, our friend Jacob. He hasn’t been around the Keg in a while.
Jacobs ladder. Parking lot suicides with a merican at start line. Add one merican for each space you increase. 1 space, 1 merican. 2 spaces, 2 mericans. You get the idea. All the way to the handrails (x15 spaces if you made it that far). And for the few that got there, back down the ladder we go. Time ran out before anyone could finish.
5 minutes of mary:
Heels to the heavens x50 IC (YHC is known for ridiculously high counts on Mary)
Box cutter x20 IC ,then reverse direction x20 more IC
30 second warning. Monkey Humpers x 10 IC
COT/BOM:
First, we welcome our new brother Trey to our group. He is now known as Boucher (pronounced “Boo-che. As in Bobby Boucher, the Waterboy)
Next week we are hosting the Thanksgiving convergence at Powderkeg. Bring your A game.
Boomhauer made mention of the Harbison 50k. YHC is a Hard Commit on that. Still gotta sign up though.
Prayers were heard. Thoughts shared. Praise for new job opportunities.
Great workout, men! Looking forward to convergence at our little AO.
