YHC has been looking forward to posting/Q’ing/just generally being a part of this awesome new AO at Gideon’s House.  Woke up early, got ready, quietly made my way to the backdoor, kicked a toy on accident…no big deal…except it was the kind of toy that makes LOUD NOISES when touched.  So our baby hears it, starts crying.  The situation was calmly explained to him and he went back to sleep.

YHC has a reputation for fart-sacking a Q anyway, so its par for the course that I was late.  Also, I said inappropriate things, and bungled the COT.  See, anyone really can Q a workout!

The VSF was planted and 14 faithful ran way more than they wanted to.

The Conditions: Wonderful fall weather.  50 degrees Fahrenheit, high humidity, gloomy.

The Thang: YHC squealed into the parking lot on two weels at 0535, so my assumption is that the pax did 25 SSH and 15 IW before I got there….

IR (double-applesauce) on Pendelton Street to Pendleton Street Baptist, which frankly, is one of the more beautiful churches in Greenville.

IR (single-applesauce?) down to the Greenville High track.  YHC was planning some kind of Dora or numbered workout where one partner does an exercise, while the other runs around the track, but we were short on time, so we just did an Indian Run around the track once.  We were infiltrated by the #RingOfFire crew.

Mosey back north on Green to the corner of Green and Pendleton.  Lunge-walk the length of the parking lot at the corner.

Mosey back to the VSF.

One last exercise, YHC’s personal favorite: the partner derkin.  Get a partner, 5 partner derkins each OYO.

Really cool to be a part of this AO.  Not only is it fun to explore new territory, but it was a mini-convergence of sorts as it has been a while since I posted at a non-running workout.  Met lots of new pax today, and even did some burpees.

The Gideons House residents were indistinguishable from the rest of the pax, which should not be offensive to either party.  That is part of the beauty of the gloom, that a successful lawyer/doctor/whatever can post alongside the likes of myself, and its just two men working out together…no pretense.  There is no class distinction when you’re doing burpees.  Burpees hurt people equally, they do not discriminate.

Welcome to Ghost Rider!  He’s a preacher at Oaktree Baptist (I think I remember that correctly), is RESPECT, was wearing a Sturgis t-shirt, and also works at a mortuary.  Machine Gun Preacher would’ve worked as well, but I just now thought of that.  He’ll be working with Quickie on a S. Greenville launch.

Yes, I know, Mumble-chatterers that we ran alot and didn’t do a lot of “bootcampy” stuff.  However, I wanted to do something a little different and also wanted to introduce #GideonsHouse to #RingOfFire and vice versa.  The fly-by was fun.

Quickie is working on a soft-launch in South Greenville, at the old Woodmont High school at 0600.  Sway wants to be 30 minutes from all pax, and this is helping to bridge the gap between Greenwood and Greenville.  Nice work Quickie.

Easley is now going at 0530 on Wednesdays and 0700 on Saturdays at the Old Market Square.  No FNG’s yet.  Put your thinking cap on!

There will be a 2ndF gathering at the start line (and close to the finish) for the Spinx Runfest on 10/31.  Races start at 0745 and to til past noon.  Sponge Bob is Q for the effort and will likely be posted up close to Mac’s Speed Shop with cold beverages.  If you are free, its a great place to watch the races and cheer on the pax (and gives F3 exposure to the running community).  Bring a shovel flag.

Discussion about the name for the AO.  Hourly Rate was thrown out as an homage to the Gideon’s bibles that are in every hotel room.  Not sure if it’ll stick or not….
