College football got started this past weekend and YHC was feeling it.  Not in an Ole Miss/Notre Dame sorta way, but more like a FSU/Texas sorta way.

The VSF was planted and 10 pax had clear eyes and full hearts.

The Conditions: A little less summery than last week.  68 degrees Fahrenheit, 83% humidity.

The Thang: Warm-up: SSH x10; Hillbillies x15; Russian Twists x20; Flutter x20

Indian Run/Mosey south on Main, left into Falls Park, left on the Swamp Rabbit Trail, under the bridge, stop underneath Academy Street in a plank to wait for the 6.

“Hey guys, we’re heading to the Kroc Center fields…”

“Uhh no we’ve gotten kicked off of those fields before”

Okay, so we’ll figure it out.  Continue on SRT, left on Westfield Street.  Thankfully there is a big open grassy area off of Westfield and near the Kroc Center.  Problem solved.

Head out onto the field.  Line-up, single-file.  4-cone drill: 20 yard sprint, side-shuffle left, backpedal, sprint back.

Wait in a squat.

Repeato x3

Circle up, Bull in a Ring style.

Pax are in a circle chopping their feet, one pax at a time to the middle, yells down, pax do an updown.  Two times around the circle.

Partner up.

Line up horizontally.  Gassers.

Partner A runs 20 yards there, back, there, back while Partner B does squats.

Repeato x4 (total of 5 gassers).

At some point we did 10 merkins…in a type of cadence.

Mosey/Indian Run back to the VSF.

Ye Olde Moleskine:

That workout was for everyone who told me that being a Notre Dame football player would be impossible.  My brothers, the guys I work with at the mill they can’t come to practice and see that I am a part of this team.

Fun to be with the Main Thang pax.  Good to meet Double Respect Crash.

Houdini thinks everything he does is tougher and better, but he was pretty slow on those backpedals.  Need to work on your GLUTES buddy.

I can tell that these guys aren’t ready to go four quarters against a premier opponent.  The jamboree is going to show what we’re really made of.  QB1 is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Game One captains: Houdini and San Diago.  Good form.

Announcements: Follow our BRR teams using the Glympse app or on twitter.  Swamp Rabbit has a 12-man and a 6-man team.

Golf tournament in October.

Prayer Requests: From Domer: there is a specific need for some foster kids (middle school aged) who were removed from family and sent to a group home because of bad behavior.  Continue to be in prayer for the fatherless in our communities and invest in them (through time, talent, money or prayer).  Deuteronomy 10:18: “He ensures that orphans and widoes receive justice.  He shows love to the foreigners living among you and gives them food and clothing.”
