12 Pax braved a chilly 32 degrees and a Super Bowl collapse to make themselves better. Here’s what they endured:
Warm up:
Hillbillies x 15 IC
Sun Gods x 15 IC
Burpees x 10 OYO
SSH x 20 IC
Thang:
YHC knew he was forgetting something this morning and realized it was his soccer cones on his way to the AO. YHC found a temporary marker, a 6 ft. tree branch, but BOGO saved the workout with quick run to the car. Our first exercise – Chilly Broad Jumps. Each PAX would chillcut while the others broad jumped over and assumed the position until we completed to the marker of about 50 yards away. Back to the starting line for a Dora 1,2,3,4. 100 block curls, 200 double count lunges, 300 single count flutters, 400 air presses. A flyover interruption broke up the monotony. We followed this by some star gazers – 10 IC. Since we’re already on the ground, some superhero themed exercises for the core seemed appropriate – Super Man and Iron Mans. With only a few minutes, I wanted to show some respect for the walls before demolition commences any day. Ascending testicles should push the shoulders a bit – 10 merkins, 10 merkins at 45 degrees, and 10 merkins at a full-upright. We wrapped up our respects with a people’s chair. Time is almost up, so let’s return the coupons to the pile and jailbreak for 3 minutes of Mary – dollies, rosalitas, and 10 big boys.
Announcements –
Check your availability April 22 or April 29th
Hurricane Alley workout time will be changing to start at 5:15 within a few weeks for all days. This allows the school admin. guys to join the COT on a regular basis and provide more Q options. We’ll get the message out before making it official – stay tuned.
Praise – Abacus’ child will now no longer require surgery for a growth plate issue. A visit to the orthopedic specialist shows only a small variance to the other leg.
Clarinet’s family escaped sickness to make the Disney family trip that they had been planning 6 months in advance.
Message:
When we get a fabulous gift, what do we do? We are so excited that we want to show all our friends; we may wear it or play with it every day for a while. Within a few weeks, this fabulous gift may lose its luster and end up in the bin with the other toys/gifts. It loses its pizazz.
This is true with Christians. At first, we’re so excited that we want the world to know. I often feel this way after a good message on a Sunday morning, but when Monday comes around, it’s back on the shelf. We take for granted that Jesus died for our sins, and we’ve got a clean slate. What a remarkable gift! It’s not that we don’t care, but maybe we don’t understand the full scope of this gift. Don’t become a routine Christian. Ask God to reignite and renew His Spirit within you.
Colossians 2:14-15 “He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.”
