45 degrees and raining……sounds like a nice recipe for  0.0.   After thinking that the 0.0 was a mythical creature, SoccerMom pulls one off last week, and a nice Tabata seemed like a good idea for a follow up for TOT window shopping.   After some talk about garb, temps, attendance in the cold, we got at it.   Enough with the chat chit.

SSHx20IC – YHC remembered that as the Q, I am supposed to count.  No crap, forgot to count at the begging of the SSHs.   PrePostCoffee has elevated in importance in my mind.

5 x 10 – I think this is the right nomenclature…10 burpees per minute for 5 minutes.

On the the TABATA for the Main Thang:

20 sec work, 10 sec rest, for 8 cycles, with 30 sec rest in between each cycle.

  1. Quad Press –  Get in a low position on hands and feet, press up to a higher position, oscillate from high to low using mostly quads and shoulders.   Mumble chatter suggested that the quad isolation was like monkey humpers.   I’d have to agree.   Also designated as pitchforweird.
  2. Imperial Squat Walkers
  3. Merkins
  4. Plain ‘ol Squats
  5. Dancing Bears
  6. Plank Jacks

Out o’ time! (and a little smoked)

Assortment of Planks.   Important to note that planking @ 6 inches with one arm up defies all logic (you had to be there, another instruction error by YHC.   Again, PrePostCoffee elevated in importance)

Announcements:  HopeRelay this Saturday, 3B sounded like he had a fantastic/awful Matinee Q lined up, 12/12 Christmas party

Prayer Requests: Whisper’s Dad, Hulks Brother, Squid had the presence of mind to pray for troops abroad and at home with Veterans Day coming up.

Observations:  Couple of things.  0.0s can suck, for sure.  I was shooting for 8 cycles, but for future reference, the 30 sec transition between cycles is too much.  Should be shortened to 10 or 15 seconds.  Also “for reals feels” as it relates to the temperature might have been added to the TOT common vernacular.  All PAX put in a huge amount of work, proud to be included in this group of men.   Next time I’ll remember to count.   Ciabatta complete.
