14 men planted the shovel flag at the #earlyedition of The Main Thang. YHC celebrated a birthday with a Gamecock victory on Saturday and shared with the PAX in the form of a #beatdown. They’re lucky that the Gamecocks didn’t lose.

The Thang:

Warmup
SSH x42 – some early mumblechatter when we blew past 25-30 reps. Then someone remembered that I just had a birthday – BINGO!!!
Merkins x10, parker peter x10 – PAX praying that every exercise wasn’t going to 42. #relax

Main St Escalator (modified version of the String of Pearls)

First stop (Court St) – 5 burpees
2nd (McBee St)- 5 burpees, 10 heels to heaven
3rd (Washington St) – 5 burpees, 10 HTH, 15 merkins
4th (Coffee St) – 5 burpees, 10 HTH, 15 merkins, 20 side squats
5th (E. North St) – 5 burpees, 10 HTH, 15 merkins, 20 side squats, 25 obl crunches
6th (College St) – 5 burpees, 10 HTH, 15 merkins, 20 side squats, 25 obl crunches, 30 plank shoulder touches

Spongebob reminded us that the proper form for “heels to heaven” means your lower back is off the ground, legs straight with slow and controlled movement, like this guy…..

Mosey back to the Hyatt, grab a couple chairs from the courtyard for:
overhead presses with chair – you guessed it 42 reps

Back on the escalator
Mosey down Main, left on E. North and right on Brown St
First stop (beside old Blues club) – 5 burpees, 10 HTH, 15 merkins, 20 side squats, 25 obl crunches
2nd (just past Groucho’s Deli) – 5 burpees, 10 HTH, 15 merkins, 20 side squats
once all were done here, on the wall for peoples chair – 42 secs worth
3rd (beside Jimmy John’s) – 5 burpees, 10 HTH, 15 merkins
4th (Conolly’s parking lot) – 5 burpees, 10 heels to heaven

Mosey back to old Greenville News bldg for 7’s:

Muscle ups (using the high wall) / air humpers
Hold the last muscle up for a 10 count

Short mosey back to the Peace Center

Spongebob reminds YHC that we didn’t get our last set of 5 burpees. Don’t worry my friend, I didn’t forget.

Naked Moleskin:

– I had a completely different workout planned and decided late Monday to audible and go with this one. Glad I did as it was a smoker.
– Everyone pushed hard and finished strong
– The 0515 time slot is starting to gather some momentum.

      1. Aye. We’re gonna try something new (to us, that is), but we’ll see if there’s time for some loading of the ark.

        Question: same meet up location (courtyard) or do y’all adjust to keep from getting in the way of the #LateThang PAX?
