20 men gathered in the gloom & were greeted with a relatively mild start to their mid-week Wednesday. As always with this YHC, each PAX-member was requested to grab a brick prior to commencement of the workout. Here’s what went down:

SSH x 11
Windmills x 11
Air Presses x 11
Slow Motion Burpee x 1

The Thang:
YHC recalls a workout on a December Saturday morning at Powder Keg. Several F3 PitchFork members visited on that particular morning, and were nice enough to lead the workout. This YHC took his favorite portions from that workout and included them here.

Part1 (Cardio Blast):
Run ¼ the way around the football track, then 8 burpees & 16 SSH’s (double count). Then run another ¼ the way around the football track, then 7 burpees & 14 SSH’s (double count). Continue this pattern until reaching 1 burpee & 2 SSH’s (double count). People who finished the earliest were required to perform an extra 1 burpee + 2 SSH’s (double count). YHC was told that his version of double count SSH’s were actually of the single count variety. We will have more debates on this at another time.

Part 2 (Brothers Working Arms):
11’s. Exercises were Rockettes using a brick & hand release merkins.

Part 3 (All-brick 2-man Dora & is the best from PitchFork):
Exercise #1: 100 man-makers

Exercise #2: 200 curls

Exercise #3: 300 squats
One man performs the exercise while the other man runs to the orange cones & back (then partners switch off). YHC bit-off more than he could chew – most teams (including the YHC’s) only made to the curls segment as time ran short.

Part 4 (My Aching Belly):
Leg Flutters x 20
Big Boy Sit-ups x 10
Shoulder Taps x 10
Big Boy Sit-ups x 10

If going, pay for F3 picnic to be held on April 22nd.
F3 Wren Community Service Day to launch April 29th. Some ideas were to cleanup area where we workout, support Rebuild Upstate, Hands on Greenville, etc. Quaker will use GroupMe to put out ‘feelers’ 1st week of April & we will pick something.

2-mile Mutt Strutt run/walk is 4/29 at 8:30.
Jersey Mike’s is donating 100% sales to charity, but only today (3/29).

FDIC proposed having a ‘money’ pool, winner take all, for best F3 attendance. However, winner would then buy breakfast for all those involved.

There will be a Spartan Sprint Race to be held next weekend if interested. Contact Fender Bender.

Layoffs at Fargo’s Company & at General Electric.

Keystone’s workplace is potentially losing a major client.

Keystone’s son (Noah) is having surgery this coming Monday, 4/3.

Beanie Weenie – Woodmont School – one of the teachers just had a massive heart attack.

FDIC – boss’ family has decided that son will have tracheotomy, which means the young boy will have to live with hole in throat.

Ecclesiastes Chapter 4, Verse 8:
There was a man all alone; he had neither son nor brother. There was no end to his toil, yet his eyes were not content with his wealth. For whom am I toiling he asked, and why am I depriving myself of enjoyment?

YHC’s self-examination:
For many years I found myself involved in countless home improvement projects & also searched for ways to invest my savings to accrue wealth. In general, I ignored my friends & ignored the needs of the church & community. For whom was I toiling? It was for me; I was obsessed with satisfying my own greedy impulses and there was not end to this game. Why did I never achieve total satisfaction, or enjoyment? Because it was for me & none of it was for the Lord.

Romans Chapter 5, Verse 1:
We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak & not to please ourselves.

I am strong, and have only worked to please myself. So maybe it is time to help the weak. My proposal is to start an F3 Wren Community Service Day – once a month on Saturday, and to start on 4/29.
