September 11th, 2001. 0846, a plane, hijacked by terrorist, was flown in to the WTC, Tower 1. 0903, another plane was flown in to the WTC, Tower 2. 0937, a third hijacked plane was flown in to the Pentagon. 1003, a fourth plane with a crew of 7 and 33 passengers (excluding terrorist) was crashed in to the ground, resulting in hundreds lives saved because of the 40 brave men and women who gave their lives to fight the terrorist in attempt to take back the plane. So, within 51 minutes, roughly the time a F3 workout last, three planes were flown in to buildings with a fourth one, 26 minutes later, flown in to the ground. All of this resulting in 2,977 deaths (excluding the 19 terrorist – SCUM)! Mind boggling.

Warm Up – 5 burpees, OYO

Now, to pay homage to those lives lost, the faithful Pax (20) performed a rep. for all 2,977 people killed during the attacks of 9/11, 13 years ago today.

‘Never Forget’ Dora (partner 1 performs exercise, partner 2 runs to curb and back, which was only about 40-50 yards to assure both partners had a good amount of reps. each.)

100 Merkins
200 Fairy Jacks (Posh was getting about 3 feet off the ground during these)
300 Mountain Climbers (single count)
400 Erectors (Air Humpers)
100 Plank Jacks
200 Squats
300 Freddy Mercury (single count)
400 Side Straddle Hop
100 Plank Shoulder Touches
200 Speed Skaters
300 Flutters (single count)
377 Air Presses

Counting an exercise, or several, to 300 and 400 is as big of a mental challenge as it is physical, and I am extremely proud of the excellent work from all Pax today! YHC never heard one bit of negativity about doing nearly 3,000 reps.. Quite the contrary actually. Hard Hat was challenging other Pax to sprint/race him on the ‘run back’. #loveit #keepitup   Posh kept losing count, or not stopping at the designated number, and I think he ended up doing like 60+ extra reps. We even had a couple minutes for Plank-O-Rama at the end, in which Handy Manny opted out and scooped up Floppy to take him for a Fireman’s Carry. Ending with a, Hard Hat called, Jail Break back to the Shovel Flags.

I’m so honored to be apart of such a great group of men. Thank you to all my F3 brothers. Even Minnie Mouse, who hasn’t posted in months but brought me out to my first post, and for that, I will be forever grateful.

A huge thank you to Wrinkle who helped me put this workout together and printed out ‘Weinkes’ for all the Pax so they could stay on track.

Also, a big shout out to Johnny 5, Posh Spice, Longbottom, and Golden Sombrero who all joined YHC in a 9/11 memorial ruck to TheBurbs, from Broadway Bagel (coffeeteria). Starting at 0415 we traveled 2.6 miles with challenge weight rucks and two Shovel Flags (which we received a couple patriotic – I think – honks for). Great fellowship with you men, thank you for being the guys ‘to my left and to my right’ (and that goes for all my F3 brothers as well).

BOM

Praise for these precious lives we have, that we often take for granted. Love life, and try to live everyday like it could be your last. Hug the ones you love, and let those you love know how important they are to you and how grateful you are to have them in your life.

Praise for the precious freedom we, as Americans, have, that we often take for granted.

Praise for the brave men and women of the military who often put their lives on the line to protect freedom.

  1. I wanted to share how this helped measure the loss but of course that’s absurd…but I do think it was an honorable memorial to the day and the tragedy. Thank you for the thoughtful Q.
