35 pax gathered in the gloom this morning to make themselves and each other better. It was a privilege to serve as the Q of this workout, and I cannot think of a better group of men with whom to kick off the last year of my thirties.

Yesterday was a particularly rough anniversary of a loss which Lauren and I experienced ten years ago, and it was extremely uplifting to look around this morning and see a lot of familiar faces.  I truly appreciate your friendship.

As for the workout, YHC was having a hard time coming up with a coherent way to incorporate the number 39 into the workout. Thankfully, Lauren came to the rescue. She observed that we have a 45 minute workout, and that if we pushed it we could fit in 39 rounds of exercise. From there, it was simply a matter of determining how those rounds would be organized. Thank you, Lauren. Now go spread some of that cheer at FiA.

Solid work today, fellas, and thanks again for the fellowship during the workout and afterward.

15 Side Straddle Hops

10 Seal Jacks

Workout

Mosey to the grassy hill to meet up with Siri (Co-Q) for 10 rounds of hill repeats

30 seconds running up and down the hill

15 second break

Rinse, repeat nine times

Mosey to grassy circle for 20 one-minute rounds of exercise

20 rounds of ten big boy sit-ups, ten merkins, and ten squats (each round is a minute, rest is earned by finishing exercises before the minute is complete). Too much mumble chatter, so we moved to “YO-LEVEN” reps of each exercise during round “YO-LEVEN”. Thank you, Sushi. In round 15, those who were so inclined had the opportunity to move to 12 reps of each exercise. Each of the final four rounds provided the option to continue adding numbers of reps so that those who were interested in doing so completed 16 reps of each exercise in round 20.

Remain in grassy circle for 9 rounds of Mary

15 second break

45 seconds of flutter kicks

Repeat circuit two times (for a total of 9 rounds or 6:45 of Mary)
