Isaiah 9:6 — For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
This prophecy from Isaiah came 700+ years before the birth of Christ. The end of the verse identifies four roles of the coming Savior. Our focus today is on the 4th- Prince of Peace. As sinners we live in a constant state of enmity among each other and between us and God. Christ came in part to bridge that gap. When we find ourselves at enmity with a brother, we have a tendency to be louder or more divisive, which serves to widen the gap and increase the enmity. The solution ought to be to seek out Christ to help us love our brothers better… to bring peace to our lives and relationships. Amen!
Thanks for the opportunity to lead!
